The Innovation Academy is designed to help managers focus on what it is that customers really value about their product and the competition.
Through creative and innovative thinking, the Academy provides practical ways of staying ahead of the market.
This textile manufacturing company from Scotland were looking for ways to reduce stock holdings and in particular to find outlets for unsold or returned goods.
They felt that they had tried every avenue open to them and were looking for some fresh insight into the problem.
We were warned that as engineers they were unlikely to embrace any “fluffy” creative thinking techniques.
Our Creative Thinking workshop, delivered to the senior management team demonstrated in a very practical way that there is much more to innovation than brainstorming. They road tested eight different idea generation techniques, always relating the learning to the issues that they faced.
The ability to innovate at every level of operations is the key management skill of the future. Business is becoming more complex, customers have more choice than ever before, and barriers to entry in most markets have fallen due to the rise of global trade and the Internet as a means of conducting business. Competitors can imitate new products and services quickly and at even lower prices and competitive activity has increased dramatically.
In this fast moving and complex environment, customers are swamped with information and options. Competitive advantage lies not only in having better product than anyone else but also in knowing how to articulate the benefits of that product.
The Innovation Academy is designed to help managers’ focus on what it is that customers really value about their product vis-à-vis the competition, and to give them practical ways of staying ahead of the market.
Our course begins by developing the manager’s individual creative potential and then provides them with the skills to lead groups through the creative process. Finally, we will examine how to develop an ongoing culture of innovation at every level within the organisation.
