Facilitation Skills for Trainers

Facilitation Skills for Trainers - 2 Days

Applicable For: Managers & Trainers

Overview

This course has been designed to help trainers to organise and run a wide range of different meetings and to develop their facilitation skills.

Facilitating group work is as much an art as a skill. Successful facilitators know how to read the mood of a group, how to coax all participants to engage fully and openly within the meeting, and to ensure that the group works effectively to meet its objectives.

This workshop helps delegates to explore what it takes to be a really effective facilitator and helps the group to develop a practical understanding of the complexities associated with trying to get a group of individuals to find common purpose. The workshop is extremely practical; every participant can expect to be fully engaged in collaborative group work throughout as they explore the role and the skills of the Facilitator.

They will learn how to prepare for a wide range of meetings and will leave with an extensive range of tools to help participants to;

  • Open up to each other and engage fully and honestly in meetings
  • To explore possibilities fully
  • To solve problems
  • To make better decisions
  • To resolve disagreements
  • To agree actions and responsibilities

The group will have an opportunity to road test a range of facilitation techniques by participating in a series of specially designed exercises and discussions. They will also have the opportunity to build their own facilitation skills tool-kit.
