Overview

Managers must be able to motivate! The ability to motivate and engage a team is at the very heart of what great managers do. Most staff come to work wanting to do a great job, however, in the normal course of their work, their levels of engagement (or motivation) can be affected by a wide variety of factors, both internal (confidence, domestic issues, aspirations) and external (environment, workload, relationships etc).

In this workshop, managers will develop a deeper understanding of what motivates people in the workplace and what they can do to create an environment in which people really want to give of their best, all of the time.

• How to recognise the signs and symptoms of motivation and de-motivation in the workplace
• How to use the psychology of motivation to better understand your staff
• How to use “career drivers” to work out what your staff really want from the job
• How to use a “work motivation audit” to analyse how best to help staff to motivate themselves

• How to manage your own motivation
